Illicit network data

Screen for risk before it has an official record

Sanctions lists, registries and adverse media only hold what has already been published. Get structured data on trafficking, sanctions evasion and forced labour networks that haven't reached any of them yet.

The situation

What a clean result can hide

A renamed front company still operating from the same factory. An unlisted subsidiary of a sanctioned parent, still trading. A trafficking network with no company on file at all.

None of these appear in a standard screening result until someone formally names them.

How we help

Network data you can screen against

People, companies and the links between them.

Structured data on who is connected to whom, and how, rather than a list of names.

Built from primary sources and documented research.

Corporate filings, local records, trade and shipping data and in-language sources, each recorded against the entry it supports.

Rooted in Latin America, built for any region.

20+ years of research in the region, with new datasets developed for any other region or issue you need covered.

Ready for your systems.

Subjects and relationships organized across a proven data schema, with a network visualisation to show how they connect.

Three ways in

However you use it, the data can reach you

If you run a screening or due diligence platform

License the data and add it to the coverage your clients already rely on, particularly where they ask about regions or networks you can't answer for today.

If you rely on a platform or risk provider

Ask whether they hold this data. If they don't, you can license it directly, or we can work with your provider to add it.

If you're investigating a network directly

Commission a dataset built around the companies, owners and trade routes you need mapped, for your own research, case work or public reporting.

When teams bring us in

Where most conversations start

  • A client, regulator or journalist has found an entity your data missed
  • A sanctioned company keeps trading through subsidiaries or fronts you can't see
  • Your platform or risk provider can't answer questions about a region you're exposed to
  • You need data on a region or issue that no provider covers yet

KYC and AML screening platform, global

Taking Mexico organised crime coverage beyond sanctioned names

5,000+
subjects in our Mexico FTO dataset

The question

How do we extend our coverage beyond sanctioned entities and PEP exposure?

What we found

Beyond the sanctioned names the platform already held, we documented more than 5,000 people and companies connected to FTO-designated groups in Mexico. That included the front companies, relatives and facilitators around those groups, and how they connect.

What happened next

The platform's clients can now screen against our Mexico FTO data inside the platform they already use.

Mapping sex trafficking networks in one US city

100
people, companies and organisations mapped

The question

Who is behind sex trafficking in the city where our clients' hotels operate, and how are they connected?

What we found

We documented the people, companies and organisations tied to sex trafficking in the city, with the relationships between them mapped and sourced.

What happened next

The company received the dataset within four weeks, ready to use in its own safety work.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from adverse media screening?

Adverse media only catches what has already been reported. This data documents people and companies from filings, local records and trade data, including pre-sanction subjects who haven't yet reached a sanctions list, a watchlist or the news.

Can you build a dataset for a region or issue you don't cover yet?

Yes. New datasets are scoped around the region and networks you need, and a focused build can be delivered within a few weeks.

Can we see what the data holds before we commit?

Yes. On a call, we can show you what the data holds for the markets and networks you care about.

Can we use the data in our own product, or only internally?

That depends on the licence. Internal-use licences cover your own screening, platform licences cover delivering the data to your clients, and publication rights can be agreed for research or public reporting.

How is the data kept current?

Licensed datasets are updated as our research continues and new subjects and relationships are documented. Commissioned datasets can be kept current through an ongoing arrangement.
