FTO and organised crime data

Screen the Latin American networks around FTO-designated groups

Built on 20+ years of research in Latin America, this data maps the people, companies and facilitators around designated groups, with a source recorded against every entry.

Our depth

Two decades of research in the region

Our researchers have worked in Latin America for over 20 years and have been mapping these networks since 2004. That work sits behind datasets on Mexico and Central America, including Guatemala, with more than 5,000 subjects in the Mexico FTO dataset and more than 6,500 in the Mexico organised crime dataset.

Your screening draws on two decades of regional knowledge, not only on what has been published.

How we help

What changes in your screening

Matches you couldn't make before.

Front companies and facilitators that have no sanctions list or registry ties to a designated group.

Matches you can explain.

Every subject and link carries its source, so whoever reviews a match can see why it's there.

Listed and pre-sanction, told apart.

Designated subjects carry their sanctions list identifiers, so a documented link never reads like a sanctions hit.

Coverage that stays current.

Refreshed quarterly and delivered by API or MCP into the screening you already run.

Rights that fit how you use it.

Platform licences cover your clients, and internal licences cover your own screening.

When teams bring us in

Signs your coverage has a gap

  • A new FTO designation lands, and you can't show which counterparties connect to it
  • OFAC names a company in a client's sector or region, and your data had no link to it
  • A counterparty that screened clean turns up in a prosecutor's filing or the press
  • An RFP asks how you cover front companies and facilitators, not only listed names
  • A pre-sanction match needs defending, and there's no source behind it to show
  • A competitor shows network-level coverage in a pitch, and you can only show names

Each one is a sign the risk sits beyond the names your data holds.

Taking Mexico organised crime coverage beyond sanctioned names

The question

How do we extend our coverage beyond sanctioned entities and PEP exposure?

What we found

Beyond the sanctioned names the platform already held, we documented more than 5,000 people and companies connected to FTO-designated groups in Mexico. That included the front companies, relatives and facilitators around those groups, and how they connect.

What happened next

The platform's clients can now screen against our Mexico FTO data inside the platform they already use.

Already in use

Proven inside a screening platform

Sigma360 has added Evidencity data to its platform, so its customers can screen against it alongside the checks they already run. No new tool, and no change to how their teams work.

The same approach works for other platforms, and for any team that wants this data inside the screening it already uses.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does a pre-sanction match mean a company is linked to a designated group?

No. It means the subject is documented in the network around a designated group, with the source recorded. It's a signal for your team to review, not a finding of wrongdoing.

How is this different from data built from company registries?

Registry-built data can only link a company once it appears in a filing. This data also documents people and companies from local reporting and records before they're filed anywhere.

Our screening provider doesn't have this data. What should we do?

Talk to us first. We'll share a summary of what the data covers and the questions to put to your provider, and we can join that conversation if it helps.

Can a platform redistribute the data to its clients?

Yes. Platform licences cover delivering the data to clients inside your product, with the terms set out in the licence.

Has Evidencity been through a security review?

Yes. Evidencity has completed a SOC 2 Type II examination, and we can share the details with your security team.
